our ethiopian daughters came home four years ago today

It was four years ago today — on a warm and sunny Saturday afternoon — when our plane touched down in Springfield, MO; about a two hour drive from home.  In the four years since, the girls have grown tremendously.  Although they could only speak a few words of English when they arrived, they’ve caught up to grade level and are currently enrolled in Classical Conversations — a rigorous curriculum that requires a great deal of time, energy, and effort.  Both are voracious readers.  They love soccer (they are quite good), swimming, their friends, and Fellowship (our church).  Of all their good qualities, the fact that both have a deep love for God is the best.  They are just as sweet as their pictures.  HERE are some pics of what we did not long after they arrived.
