MORE PROOF THAT DESPITE WHAT YOUR DENTIST TELLS YOU, FLUORIDE IS BAD NEWS
For instance, were you aware that a massive government-funded study (Developmental Fluoride Neurotoxicity: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis) done by researchers at Harvard University crunched the data from dozens of studies, concluding in a 2012 issue of Environmental Health Perspectives that, “Children in high-fluoride areas had significantly lower IQ scores than those who lived in low-fluoride areas. The results support the possibility of an adverse effect of high fluoride exposure on children’s neurodevelopment.” It’s really no different that the study published a couple years ago.
The March 2014 issue of The Lancet Neurology (Neurobehavioural Effects of Developmental Toxicity) stated that, “A meta-analysis of 27 cross-sectional studies of children exposed to fluoride in drinking water, mainly from China, suggests an average IQ decrement of about seven points in children exposed to raised fluoride concentrations.” In other words, it’s becoming increasingly clear that fluoride is not a good thing to be putting into the human body as far as the brain is concerned — particularly children’s brains.
For decades, however, the dental community and ADA have touted fluoride as a preventative for DENTAL CAVITIES. When I would ask my dentist(s) about this, I was always reassured that there are dozens of studies not only about how necessary fluoride is for your children’s teeth, but how safe it actually is (neither me nor my children ever received fluoride treatments). When you have the oldest medical journal in the world saying otherwise (see above), it’s time to rethink the equation. Speaking of equations…….
Dr Dean Burk (along with Dr. Hans Lineweaver) solved the enzyme kinematics equation back in 1934 that still bears their names today — The Lineweaver / Burk Graph Plot. Burk was a rather sharp guy as far as scientists go. He also discovered one of the B VITAMINS (biotin). He as a co-developer of the MRI UNIT. He also happened to be a friend and peer of DR. OTTO WARBURG, the German physician / researcher who won 1931’s Nobel Prize for Medicine for figuring out that sugar is cancer’s food of choice (HERE). The two did a great deal of work together in the arena of photosynthesis (a plant’s ability to turn sunlight, CO2, and water into sugar).
On top of everything else, Dr. Burk not only worked as a professor at several universities, he served as the head of the National Cancer Institute’s Cytochemisty Division from 1938 until he retired in 1974, authoring something like 250 peer-reviewed papers along the way. But it’s after his retirement that his expertise became a thorn in the side of the chemical industry, earning him decades of posthumous internet scorn from the ADA and other naysayers. For nearly 15 years (he died in 1988), Dr. Burk beat the anti-fluoridation drum and was, like any number of others who have done similar, vilified for it (HERE’S ANOTHER). Watch the first couple minutes of the video below and tell me if you feel he really cares.
