There are a wide variety of stretches for the lower extremity. Although you will find many more than what is shown here, I am going to show you the most common stretches we use for our Scar Tissue Remodeling. Interestingly enough, things are made much easier because many of these stretches are the same. For my purposes, the stretches of both of the calf muscles (the Gastrocnemius and Soleus), their tendon (the Achilles Tendon), as well as the Plantar Fascia on the bottom of the foot, all utilize the exact same stretches. Although I do not have pictures of every conceivable stretch for this particular area, do what you feel is best for stretching the area that I treated. For the first 3 days you are going to stretch every half hour. The next week, every hour. Hold stretches about 15 seconds and do a total of 1-2 minutes of stretching. It is the stretching that actually ‘Remodels’ the Connective Tissue (FASCIA, TENDONS, LIGAMENTS, MUSCLES) after I break the adhesion. |
